A bright and freezing Saturday morning. Thirty people listen to John-Arild Johansen the communication director of Trondheim Art Museum who presents the new artshow. An eclectic selection of 20 artpieces of local artists, we recognize some of them. Anne-Karin Furunes (NO), whom we have met before and would love to meet again, and Sten Are Sandbeck (NO), who we also met before at the museum with his solo show fashion ghost. Fresh ideas in art, white wine and cross conversations in the room. We meet Turid Mathiesen Kvålsvoll, new one year board director at HKF, who wants to talk with us about LLLL Art Agency, the Frozen Heat Art Series and HKF. Lets go to HKF.

En el museo se conserva a fuerza de barniz el cadáver de una evolución. Allí está el flujo del afán pictórico que siglo tras siglo ha brotado del hombre. Para conservar esta evolución ha habido que deshacerla, triturarla, convertirla de nuevo en fragmentos y congelarla como en un frigorífico. Cada cuadro es un cristal de aristas inequívocas y rígidas separado de los demás, isla hermética. Y, sin embargo, no sería difícil resucitar el cadáver. Bastaría con colocar los cuadros en un cierto orden y resbalar la mirada velozmente sobre ellos y si no la mirada, la meditación. Entonces se haría patente que el movimiento de la pintura, desde Giotto hasta nuestros días, es un gesto único y sencillo, con su comienzo y su fin. Sorprende que una ley tan simple haya dirigido las variaciones del arte pictórico en nuestro mundo occidental. Y lo más curioso, lo más inquietante es la analogía de esta ley con la que ha regido los destinos de la filosofía europea. Este paralelismo entre las dos labores de cultura más distantes permite sospechar la existencia de un principio general aún más amplio que ha actuado en la evolución entera del espíritu europeo. Yo no voy a alargar la aventura hasta ese remoto arcano, y me contento, por el pronto, con interpretar el gesto de seis siglos que ha sido la pintura de Occidente.

Upon arrival we have quick conversations with everyone. The test. The mood checkout, excellent. Oscar moves fast in the kitchen while martinka throws her charm. At the table the generous wine brought by the students opens a delicious mood. As we eat the salad we talk about the roads, the weather and the inmigration, commonplaces. With some wine and the main dish we talk with the students about possible tv shows we can make. In the dessert we talk about art, about us being part of the artpiece, being the spectators of our own play, where the artist direct a scenography where each one plays his own rol. To play a rol is charming, since you have to give and listen, be active and patient. The contextual relational pieces always demands an extra effort in the audience.

To play with context is a crispy idea in art, we do not have to talk about dada. Dada speaks alone. Dieter Roth knew about this. Daniel Spoerri knew about this. Rirkrit Tiravanija knew about this and Antonio Miralda knows pretty well about this. 

We know as well, since we love the brightness of the contemporarity and the references to some masters of context symphonies. We loved to meet all the guests and to be able to talk and develop certain intimacy with the artists after dinner, chilling at a couch and by the fire. Thats the ultimate goal of the piece, to generat the confort zone that enables us to make a further step.

So, there is the context frame, Rake, the sub frame, The Kitchen Dialogues, and our own frame, the upcoming FROZEN HEAT SERIES.
